Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) is a dance music festival that has been around for a while now, but this year was the first time it had taken place in the UK.
In July 2013 ravers flocked to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London, for the one day festival which would see Nervo, Steve Angello, Avicii and Tiesto entertain fans until 11pm.
The weather was warm, not hot, but warm and dry. To be honest that’s the most we can really hope for with our British summers.
The day was billed as a carnival, which I’m not totally sure it really was, but there were some great features such as a huge ‘spider’ and its web ‘thrown’ across the audience during Avicii’s set.
It also had a giant daisy situated next to the main stage which lit up as the day went on. Although a fun festival without the mud you’d normally have at a British festival it didn’t compare to Ultra Music Festival, having experienced that for the first time in March this year. British festivals have something to learn from their worldwide counterparts.
